On March 7, 1999 died at the age of 70 years, the most brilliant filmmaker of the twentieth century, Stanley Kubrick. E 'then use the tenth anniversary of his death. Ten years, not three or four, an important anniversary. Someone has noticed? Has anyone heard of the memorial services in TG RAI or if some TV network has sent one of his movies to remember? If anyone has knowledge let me know, please, because it seemed to me a shameful anniversary passed over in silence, apart from the article I read on ' and other similar units at other newspapers reports. I tried commemorative traces on the websites of the three RAI TG, if I had lost something on television. What is happening to a country like Italy that forget to celebrate an anniversary cultural role as the death of a genius?
On a recent issue of FilmTV there was an article that talked about Kubrick and his final film "Eyes Wide Shut" that closes, in the best tradition of the author, with a final enigmatic or however original and surprising enough to give rise to a sequence of interpretations.
I do not know if you remember the scene. Cruise and Kidman Stano trying to put together the broken Bambocci of their union. I am in a department store in the toy department, and talk to each other. L'autore dell'articolo di FilmTV osserva però che, in originale, la parola pronunciata da Nicole è "Fuck", che significa scopare ma anche vaffanculo. Secondo la sua interpretazione, Kubrick ha voluto ironicamente (era un gran burlone) mandarci tutti affanculo con un ultimo sberleffo.
Alla luce dell'indifferenza nei confronti dell'anniversario della sua scomparsa, mi sento di essere d'accordo con l'ipotesi, per lo meno in ambito italiano.
Non vi manca Kubrick? Non pensate sia an irreparable loss that will never make more movies? So fuck all go away.
